Jesse Cain Ruddell was born in 1837, son of William and Delilah (Cain) Ruddell. He was born in Indiana and was listed as 13 years of age in the U.S. Census from Decatur County, Indiana 1850.
Jesse appears to be casually dressed in this photograph. He appears to be in his late 40's or early 50's.
Here is an interesting account of Jesse Cain Ruddell's eldest sibling, Martha A. Ruddell.
